Convincing the authorities,

Bringing the persons at the helm to your ideas is not a small task.Especially about the modernization of school libraries in India. Very few people consider libraries in schools as an essential component of the system. Fortunately, the scenario in Kendriya Vidyalayas is getting better. Automation of some KV libraries and its proven usefulness demand a rethinking from the side of authorities.

There was a visit of Assistant commissioner Dr. E. Prabhakar and Education Officers  Mr. P. Devakumar, Mr. D. Manivannan and Dr.(Mrs) K. Usha Rani to the KV Pattom Library on 24/07/2009. They were accompanied by nearly 60 Principals of different KVs in Chennai Region.

A small presentation and interaction held on library’s online activities and automation.

If the principals can take steps to modernize their libraries by providing enough fund and administrative support then we can consider this interaction as a successful one. Let’s hope so.

Thank you for this amazing (really) initiative. I have had the happiest memories of the library when I was in school (a full 7 years ago!).
